SHARING THE HOPE OF CHRIST AND

EQUIPPING YOUTH FOR LIFE

~ VISION ~

Strong Christian families with healthy children and boundless opportunities to honor God with their gifts and talents -- a vision that is only possible when lives are surrendered to Jesus Christ.

~ MISSION ~

Build relationships with high-risk youth, share the Gospel with them and their families,

and train them in Christ-like character, Biblical family values, and job skills.

~ MISSION FIELD ~

Jaco and Herradura, and more specifically, the marginalized communities of Cristo Rey and Las Parcelas

~ BATTLE ~

In stark contrast to Costa Rica's beauty and adventure tourism, the Jaco community is also widely known for its destructive lifestyles like prostitution, sex tourism, human trafficking, illicit drugs, addiction, violent crime and homelessness. Children in marginalized neighborhoods are at greater risk of falling into these lifestyles due to limited education, poverty, lack of family support, lack of documentation, teen pregnancy, hopelessness, and generational patterns. There are good people in Jaco who provide services to the adults trapped in these lifestyles. We partner with some of these organizations. However...

At Swift Sunrise, our hope and prayer is that no child will ever need these services

because of the chain-breaking power and love of Jesus Christ!

It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men." --Frederick Douglass

~ CURRENT AND FUTURE STRATEGIES ~

At Swift Sunrise, God has given us a very clear direction for accomplishing His work. There are two main focus areas for impacting the youngest generation: training others in God's plan for the family; and training young people in life skills that will give them hope for a bright future.

  • Teach Home and Family Values - Biblical family values (marriage, parenting, children honoring parents, healthy encouragement and discipline, etc.) and household management (cooking, hygiene, family finance, simple home repairs, personal relationships, time management, being good neighbors, etc.).

  • Train Youth for the Future - Strong character (respect for authority, earning trust, hard work, honesty, timeliness, etc.) and vocational training and internships in construction (carpentry, roofing, painting, welding, plumbing, electric), auto repair (including body work and detailing), clerical/bookkeeping, computer training, commercial cooking/catering, hairdressing, cosmetology, business management, hospitality (hotels, coffee shops, restaurants), real estate, etc.

~ ONGOING PROGRAMS ~

We have only just begun! Please explore this website to understand our current programs. These include ESL, baseball, day clubs, Bible studies, youth service projects, and special events. We share the truth of eternal life in Christ in all our ministries.

~ SAMARITAN MENTALITY ~

We like our programs, but more importantly we love people. Sometimes crisis situations interrupt our best-laid plans. In these situations, we put our plans aside and respond with love and humble service, just like the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). It is an honor to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to give God all the glory.
