Christian Mercy In Time of Need

In May 2024, several houses in the marginalized neighborhood of Las Parcelas were bulldozed with little or no advance notice to the residents. A judge ordered that these families were to be evicted from their land. Some residents had lived on the property for over 20 years and had paid money to some corrupt lawyers to buy their land, or so they thought. When the bulldozers arrived without warning that day, the famililes had two hours or less to salvage what they could.

After the destruction, Sara from Swift Sunrise led the effort to organize the Christian community and distribute donations of food, clothing, shelter and household goods. Our friends Ben and Julie Ferguson were part of the effort and, later, Ben created this video to show how God was glorified amidst the devestation.
